TACITA DEAN BIOGRAPHY

Tacita dean is an artist who Works in film. She made a 16mm film and she’s famouse because of it. She uses photography, drawing and sound on her films too.

She was born in Canterbury. She studied at Falmouth School of Art since 1988 and later She studied at the slade arts school on London from 1990 to 1992. She started her formation to be a painter but then she decided to work on video.

Her first exhibition was in Slovenia and was named The Martyrdom of St Agatha and Other Stories.

She is known as a Young British artist.

Some films of her work have been written by her and she refers to as “asides” but since 1990 her films haven’t include commentary but they are accompanied by sound. During 1990 the sea was a theme that Tacita Dean uses a lot on her films.
